Fair Parade! August 22, 2012

 

First time in a long time that we were able to get together at the fair parade. Kids got lots of candy as always. McKelle got an awesome hat the you see Parker and Tag wearing! After the parade we parked at Brody and Joce's and walked over to the fair. The kids... including Brody and McKelle rode rides! The night went pretty quickly but had just enough time to see the animals!!
 I ended up working alot at the fair at the clinic booth! I learned how to make balloon animals. We figured we could have a great family party. Colleen- balloon animals, Claudia-face painting, Brody, Cam, Donny, and Jason are good juglars. Ada-party planner...we need to add to the list with everybody else. Corn Convention

 

We planned to do corn sat. Aug. 18, 2012. Donny and I went to Kent's friday night to get the corn. We filled up 2 shopping carts with 20 doz. @ $1.99 a dozen. We got a lot of stares and were glad to get out of there. Quite embarrassing! Emma came to spend the night because Brody and Joce had to work the next day. We had just watched a little news and I was getting some books out to read to Emma before getting her to bed. Donny had just gone to bed and I thought I heard something. Quickly dismissed it, thinking it was the neighbor coming home or something. Intent on getting Emma ready for bed, I heard another sound... A knock at the door, is that what I heard? It's 10:30 at night!!! Who would be at my door this late? I was creeped out from the news I'd watched. Standing in the hall so still, I hear another knock. Please go away I say to myself. Then another loud knock!! I whisper YELL to Donny "Babe, somebody is at the door!" Another knock, so I grab Emma's hand "for courage" and head down the stairs. I flip on the outside light and peek out the blinds  and WHAT........ I open the door as Donny gets to the top of the stairs and what do I see? Jason, Claudia,Ada, Boston, and Davis!! I'm so confused, scared, and shocked!! I don't even know what to say. These crazy kids just love surprising us!!! You'd think I'd get used to it or even suspect it. But nope.... I never do. They really took the Corn Convention ( as Claudia calls it) seriously! They win the distance traveled prize!!

Everyone helped out in their own way!

WICKED

We were so happy we got to see WICKED! We LOVED it! We were able to buy tickets from Frank and Marion which were on Row H,  8 rows back and, right on the isle. We could see so good. Can't say enough about it. I can't stopped listening to the music either. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! We spent the night in Salt Lake City (we had a free night that we needed to use with Marriot) and then went to City Creek and did a little shopping! Yummy lunch at Cheesecake Factory!!

Little Beasts, Little Gym/ Jason and Claudia's move to St. George

On Thurs. Aug. 9, 2012, Jocelyn and I  dropped Brandon and Donny off at the airport to fly to California. They will help load the moving van and drive vehicles to St. George.  We went to Kim and Blairs and stayed until Sat. morning. We attended Sophie's little gym class friday morning. The girls had so much fun! Emma was a little shy at first but then got into it. Sophie loves her "Nastics" as she calls it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Joce and I met the moving crew in St. George sat at 2:00. I was able to meet a couple across the street who lined up some elders from the ward to help unload the truck! It was a very HOT day!! The truck was unloaded in about an hour and then unloading boxes and setting up house began. We went to church on Sun and swam in their community pool. We accomplished alot and we were all pretty exhausted. The five of us headed home on tues. So glad to have them closer to us!

Jason,Claudia,Brody, and Joce went out to dinner while Donny and I watched the kiddos! Ada wanted to plan a party for Claudia, so that's what we did the entire time they were gone. The party turned out so fun! Played a game where we had to see who could make the baby's bed the fastest. Brody did it a different way than the rest of us and Ada said "BONUS". It was pretty hilarious! She is quite the party planner.

It turned out to be the hottest day ever! We were all found under the shade!

 Emma stole the spotlight for just a minute as she bravely slid down the water slide into cold water!

 

 Tag, cousins and friends spent the rest of the afternoon keeping cool by going down the water slide!

 

 

 

Sophie was a little more timid but had fun just the same.

 

 This is when she said "I did it!"

 Plenty of drinks and yummy food for all!
